Reports are coming in from all around that NFL that Broncos WR Kenny McKinley has taken his own life. He was 23 years old. A 5th Round Draft Pick in 2009, McKinley missed all of 2009 with a knee injury. He was hoping to return to form in 2010, but another knee injury forced him back on I/R early in Training Camp.
Fox31 was the first to break the story.
"Although the death of McKinley appears to be the result of a self inflicted gunshot, the investigation into this matter, conducted by the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office and the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office, is on-going, " Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said.
FOX31's Josina Anderson was the first to report the story earlier. According to Anderson's Twitter, the story of McKinley's death is 'complicated' because a "small child is a survivor".
Everyone here at Mile High Report extend our deepest condolences to McKinley's family and the McKinley's teammates, both with the Broncos and at South Carolina, his alma mater.
More to come...
