Fantasy Football Sleeper of the Week - Tim Tebow

The MHR Fantasy Football Sleeper of the Week is none other than Tim Tebow. Many may consider this a fantasy pick that only a homer would make, but Tebow is actually a fairly common sleeper this week. In fact, Michael Fabiano from NFL Network is a huge supporter of starting Tebow this week. I agree with him. Tim Tebow is a solid QB1 fantasy option. In the 3 games he started in 2010, Tebow scored over 20 fantasy points in each contest. Last week, in only one half of play against the Chargers, Tebow accumulated 19 points according to most standard scoring formats.

Against the Miami Dolphins, he is definitely worth the start. Miami's defense has given up over 20 points per game in 4 of their 5 games (the exception being the Browns, who scored only 17 points). The Dolphins have only 2 interceptions this season, 2nd worst in the NFL behind only the Pittsburgh Steelers (1).

It will be interesting to see how the Mike Nolan led Dolphins Defense will fare against Tebow, who is the first "mobile" quarterback the Dolphins have faced all season. Tom Brady, Matt Schaub, Colt McCoy, Philip Rivers and Mark Sanchez wouldn't be regarded as scrambling quarterbacks, so it's important for Miami to not only defend the pass, but also contain Tebow in the pocket to make him throw.

With all that said, I think Tim Tebow is the start of the week. The Dolphins are coming off of a Monday night loss to the Jets and the Broncos are coming off a bye week. With only 6 days to prepare a weak defense, I don't think the Dolphins will contain Tim.

Unleash the Tebow!
