First of all, thanks to all who voted and congratulations to Lauren G. for winning Round Eight of our cheerleader tournament. Also, another big Mile High Salute to Jenna for her showing. This was another early breakaway that seemed to see the votes even out a bit late. I'm always surprised to see wins by the margin some of these votes are getting, but on this one the information might have played a big part.
For those of you who are new to this series, here's the usual introduction: I got the idea for this while visiting the Phinsider website. They were doing a short bracket of cheerleaders from around the league. I figured that wouldn't work for us though since we all know we have the best cheerleaders there are. So, I built bracket for the best of the best. To be fair, all entries were selected with a random number generator. I'd like to wrap this up on Super Bowl Sunday, so that means a new vote every 3 or 4 days. It doesn't matter how you vote, but I'll be giving the information and pictures from the Broncos' website. You can base your vote on who you perceive to be the biggest fan, whose personality you like the best or plain and simple looks (of course, the info will still probably have to play a part since they're all obviously 10s of course).
So, without further adieu, I present Round Eight of the tournament .
If you can't see the full bracket, just click on the picture. It should take you to the source image.
Round Nine: Patricia Reimann versus Kim Hidalgo
Patricia Reimann
Jenna has been a fan of the Broncos since she can remember. She was raised a bronco fan and can't imagine rooting for any other team. This is the lifelong fan's first season cheering for us. She's a graduate of CSU, majoring in Apparel and Merchandising with a minor in business and is currently working as a Sales Assistant.
Occupation and how does Broncos affect your work?
I am a full time student and work at ace hardware as a cashier and sales floor assistant. Adding Broncos into my life definitely makes my schedule packed and always busy, but I like it that way I'm not one to want to sit at home I like being out of my home being involved in whatever I can.
What is the most important attribute of a Denver Broncos cheerleader?
Being involved in the community and also giving back to it as well. There is only so much one person can do for a charity and being a part of an organization where everyone is involved and out there giving back to those who really need help is something I absolutely love about the organization. I also love being part or a team where everyone has the same passion for dance that I also have as well.
Most memorable experience?
So far ... The Broncos Bunch promotion. There was this little girl that came up to Tristan, Michelle and I and handed us a picture her brother had drawn of a cheerleader cheering at a game. It made me realize that we are role models to a lot of young kids and that brought the biggest smile to my face when they gave that picture to us ... We made them sign it later as well.
Who has been your greatest inspiration?
As cliché as this sounds, my mom is definitely my greatest inspiration. She died when I was only 12 years old and she was a very successful woman who sadly died at a very young age. So whenever I say I want to do something or set a goal for myself I always am reminded of my mom and how her life ended very suddenly, and if I ever want to accomplish a goal in my life I need to work towards it every day with absolutely no regrets or telling myself I should have done something different. You only have one life and you need to make the most of it before it’s too late and your looking back saying what you should have done differently, my motto is to always look forward toward the future at what you can do instead of looking backward at what you should have done.
What is one thing about being a DBC that most people don't know?
How hard you have to work on the team. Being a DBC means carrying a Legacy on your shoulders of all the DBC’s before you. Every year the standards are higher and it takes a lot of work to meet those standards.

What do you value most in your life?
My family and all the people I have met and become friends with. They all play a huge role in my life and I would not be the person I am today without all the encounters I have had with my friends and family. They make me want to be the best person I can possibly be not only for myself but for them as well.
Place you would most like to visit and why?
Europe. I went to Spain after high school and my mind was blown away by the culture and the history that lies in every stone of that country. The US is so young compared to Europe and I just want to learn so much more about the different cultures there.
Who do you admire most in the sports industry?
What a magnificent show they put on for their fans. Sports would not be the same without the fans that go to every game and cheer on every team they are the ones that really bring a sporting event to life and that’s what I admire the most.
What is the best thing about Broncos fans?
They know how to bleed blue and orange especially when the raiders come to town! Not only that but they stay loyal no matter what. The broncos have had it tough the past couple of years but the fans are still there cheering them on. When things gets rough they are there to support the broncos and help them get through the season. But when the broncos are having a great season the bronco fans aren’t going to jump on the band wagon they are going to cheer on the broncos all the way to the playoffs and the super bowl if they make it!

Water for Elephants. Its amazing, Im really trying not to go see the movie!

I am allergic to everything it seems like. Dust, nuts, sunflower seeds, dogs, cats, the list goes on and on.

Little kids! The things they say and ask are so random and creative. Every time I have a conversation with a child under ten years old it brings a smile to my face and constant laughter.
How do you challenge yourself?
Through dance actually. I go to the studio at my school everyday and try to learn a new technical trick. I work on it everyday until it is perfect, and then I move on to another one. It keeps me motivated and always working towards achieving my personal goals and of course it make me a better dancer.
How do you spend your time in the offseason?
I have no offseason! I am constantly working on something. It is either in work, school, or dance. But when I do have free time I try and spend it with my friends and family by going on trips or just hanging out with them at concerts or parks.
In what area of your life have you achieved the most success?
In dance. I was never formally trained, except for in Irish dancing, and I had to learn a lot of technique on my own. My had work definitely paid off. I was captain of my high school dance team, danced for CSU for three years on the Golden Poms, and now I am DBC. I am very proud of everything I have achieved in my dancing carrier and could ask for anything more.
Kim Hidalgo
Kim has always been a huge football fan. She grew up watching it with her dad. She's been a Broncos Fan since 2000 when she moved to Denver. She was obviously hooked since this is her fourth year cheering for us. She doesn't mention where she attended school, but she has a degree in Bachelor in Speech Communications and Minor in Nutrition, and is currently going back to school to become a Registered Nurse. She currently works as a Personal Trainer.
Current occupation & how it affects your work?
I am a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Dancing takes discipline and hard work to reach your goals. Being a personal trainer fits very well with being a cheerleader because training takes the same amount of effort--I do my best to convey this to all of my clients.
What is the most important attribute of a Denver Broncos Cheerleader?
We are all so blessed to be given this opportunity. The most important attribute of being a DBC is that we are all passionate about what we do. We give 100% in all we do because we want to be the best we can be. Whether it be dancing on the field or volunteering at a charity, we are there because we choose to be.
Most memorable experience?
I have to pick just one?! I would have to say it would have to be my first game. I was so nervous and excited and definitely had butterflies in my stomach (it's funny because this actually still happens every game!) I had no idea what to expect. The energy in Invesco was amazing and it was so surreal being on the field.
Who has been your greatest inspiration?
My parents. They have taught me to value the importance of my family and my faith. They are the most unmaterialistic people I've ever met and I really admire that about them.
What is one thing about being a DBC that most people don’t know?
Being a DBC is definitely a once in a lifetime experience and is such an amazing opportunity to have been given. It's so much fun being on the field and cheering on the team. What many people don't know is that although it's a lot of fun, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to do what we do.
Best advice to kids?
Throughout your life there will consistently be challenges--if you give 100% of yourself in all that you do, you can never fail--no matter what the outcome is.

I am definitely an active person. Any sport on the beach is always fun…football, volleyball, skimboarding. I also love going to baseball games on hot summer nights and of course football is a favorite to watch, especially when you have the best seat in the house!
What top 3 things in life do you hope to accomplish?
Yet again, this one always seems to change for me as the years go by. I definitely still want to travel to the Philippines to see where my dad grew up, and I also want to write a book one day. Overall though, I just want to live life day by day knowing that I am where I am because it's where I choose to be in my life.
What do you value most in life?
Time with my family and friends. I’ve definitely been blessed with amazing people in my life.
Place you would most like to visit and why?
I would still love to visit the Philippines and see where my dad's side of the family grew up. I've still never been to Hawaii and I still hope to one day go there as well.
Who do you admire most in the sports industry?
Athletes are role models to so many young kids. I admire any person in the sports industry who is able to stay humble and who spends genuine quality time in the community. Kurt Warner is a good example of this.
What is the best thing about Broncos fans?
Broncos fans are so dedicated to their team. The fans are a huge part of what makes this experience so amazing. Their enthusiasm and excitement is very contagious.
What book are you currently reading?
Reading is definitely a huge hobby of mine. Currently I am reading Tuesdays with Morrie written by Mitch Album. This is my third time reading it! This book definitely makes me realize that life is short and to always be thankful for the blessings I've been given in my life. I also try and read from the Bible ever day. God is the reason I'm here.
In what charities or community service organizations are you most involved in and why?
I currently started volunteering with Orphan's Bridge and help out with them when I can. I also volunteer at the Tennyson's Center for Children where I teach a cheer/ dance class for the girls there. This has become something I hold dear to my heart and I look forward to seeing these girls every week. Seeing the smiles on their faces when they dance is priceless.
What is something about you that fans might not know about?
I used to be super shy. I was known for that in high school. I’ve always been able to perform in front of a lot of people, but talking in front of crowds or even one-on-one was always a huge challenge for me. In college I decided I needed to change this and that’s why I decided to major in Speech Communications.
What makes you laugh?
I love laughing! I laugh at pretty much anything. I’m always that person laughing hysterically about nothing. It could be something as small as someone pronouncing a word wrong. One of my favorite shows is America’s Funniest Videos (I grew up watching that every Sunday night with the family).
How do you challenge yourself?
I get this empty kind of feeling in my life when I don’t challenge myself. I never let myself become complacent whether it’s with work, DBC, in relationships, etc. There is always room for improvement in every area of my life.
How do you spend your time in the off-season?
I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy going to sporting events, concerts, working out, and I love being on the beach relaxing whenever I get the chance.
In what area of your life have you achieved the most success?
I’d have to say I’m in a place in my life where I can look back and see how the challenges in my life have made me who I am today. I feel I’ve achieved success in just knowing who I am and knowing that life is what you make of it. Even now, when times get tough, I remind myself, that I truly am blessed with the small things in my life.
So Round Nine brings us a battle of a rookie versus a vet. They've both loved football their entire life, but one was lucky enough to be born into the magic that is Mile High. Once again, please feel free to add your opinions and any info you can find on these lovely ladies, and let me know if there's anything I can do to improve this series.
And I just want to say thank you again to MHR. My knowledge of football has expanded exponentially since I started coming to this site and I still find myself so far behind some of the great members here. I figured this contest would be a good way to give something back. Go Broncos!
