With the #15 Pick in the 2011 MHR Community Mock Draft the Miami Dolphins Select RB Mark Ingram, Alabama

From General Manager BroncoFanIL:  After numerous failed attempts to trade down we decided the most immediate impact to our team at that pick would be interior OL or RB to give us some flexibility at the RB position considering our contract situation and depth at the position. With the pick made at #14 it made our decision easy.

Ingram has shown at the college level that he can come in and produce right away. We feel his combination of power between the tackles, his deceptive speed to get to the outside and his recieving skills, he will be a great asset to our offense to take some pressure off our young QB. With his work ethic and desire we excited to have this young man on board.

As for the QB, WR and TE position I felt there was no one  left on the board worthy of the 15th pick that would have the immediate impact we can get from Ingram although it was tempting. We can address any number of our needs in the later rounds.

From the Commish

Sayre:  Mark Ingram is a good if not great player, but I am not sure running back is the best choice for the Dolphins without having a second round pick. You've still got guys like Jake Locker and Ryan Mallett available, and while I don't feel those guys are exactly worthy of this selection, I think quarterback is one of the more pressing needs facing the Dolphins right now along with offensive line. The Dolphins could get a very solid caliber of back in the third round, but Ingram is a special player. He would allow them to let go of Ronnie Brown and bring back Ricky Williams, likely a cheaper alternative. This is a solid pick, but not having a 2nd round pick makes me skeptical.
