With the #30 Pick in the 2011 MHR Community Mock Draft, the New York Jets Select ILB Martez Wilson, Illinois

From General Manager Ed Teach:  This was a very tough call. I was hoping for Phil Taylor to fall but after he went I decided to use the pick on Wilson, who will help shore up an already excellent defense. He has the physical attributes – quick first step, power, length – to be a 3-4 outside linebacker and that was one of the biggest needs on the Jets.

The Jets hope he can be the outside linebacker in a 3-4 that they envisioned when they chose Vernon Gholston 6th overall. If he's able to get one sack in the next 42 games then he will have exceeded the production of Gholston, so the bar is set pretty low. I debated not taking him so the Broncos could take him at 36 but I think this will help the Jets get over the AFC championship hunt and actually make Rex Ryans prediction come true. Now lets go get a god damn snack.
