Quick Take:

Junior with 2 and a half years of starting under his belt, the best player and athlete in the 2011 draft.  Lots of film against top college WRs, including #2 receiver over all in 2011, Julio Jones.  Prototype franchise CB in every way.   The film speaks for itself, and EFX didn't bother with attending the LSU Proday, knowing that all their questions would be answered in preplanned private workouts and visits to the Dove Valley facility.  Only suspected drawback to Peterson's game is his use in zone coverages, but this is an overblown and unwarranted criticism.  However, it does indicate the risk of valuing a CB too highly, especially with limited and scarce draft resources.  The only reason Peterson might not be the #1 overall player taken is because of the limits to the overall effectiveness of his position, not his play at that position.

Where He Goes in the Draft:

Top 5

What is Denver's Interest In Him?

High.

Patrick Peterson will be under strong consideration for the #2 pick overall, and any trade down that allows Denver to make a selection in the top 4 or 5 of the draft.

[Note:  All players in the table are ranked by overall grade within their round grouping, however, the round groupings are based on where this player will likely be drafted based on where teams are currently selecting in the draft.  Therefore a player is ranked within a group by his level of ability, but players in nearby groupings may have higher or lower actual grades, despite being in a different group.  Confusing enough for you? --Styg]
