2011 Denver Broncos Draft Cameos: Johnny White and the 7th Rounders

Running Back - Johnny White, North Carolina

Height:  5'10"
Weight:  200
40yd:  4.50

Interest Level:

Private Workout:  Yes
Private Visit to Team Facility:  No
Attended Proday:  Yes
Other: -

Quick Take:

Decent all around back who showed good hands out of the backfield and an average rate of production from a variety of roles over his career at UNC.  Didn't flash much, but was dependable in most situations.  Can help in the kick return game, while teams find out if he can provide more to a proteam than he could to a college team.

Where He Goes in the Draft:

7th round or later.

What is Denver's Interest In Him?

Low.

It is likely that Denver brought him in to fill in the gaps from the workouts he missed at the combine, and possibly to do a medical check on his shoulder.  As an average athlete with below average production, they probably aren't interested, but prior to his clavicle injury, he was averaging 5.5 ypc, so they may want to see even more of him.  Limited touches during his career is limiting team interest at this point.

Other Late Rounders That Denver Has Been Looking At

The following players are all projected in the 7th round at the earliest, and I haven't had a chance to watch any of them (saw a little Finley, looking at other players, but not enough to comment, beyond the fact that he ain't chopped liver).  If you have seen any of them, let the rest of your MHRians know what you are seeing!

RB Jay Finley, Baylor (Proday, Private Workout, Denver Visit)

FB Zac Pauga, Colorado State (Private Workout)

DE Ryan Coulson, Nevada (Private Workout)

LB Marc Scheichel, Airforce (Proday, Private workout)[this kid is probably worth taking a look at -- Styg]

[Note:  All players in the table are ranked by overall grade within their round grouping, however, the round groupings are based on where this player will likely be drafted based on where teams are currently selecting in the draft.  Therefore a player is ranked within a group by his level of ability, but players in nearby groupings may have higher or lower actual grades, despite being in a different group.  Confusing enough for you? --Styg]
