From General Manager Dbroncs1414: Ponder is a great 2nd round choice. He doesn't have the highest ceiling, but he's a very solid QB who could step in and start day one. He's also a perfect fit for the new West Coast Offense Gruden is bringing in. Ponder has a nice blend of everything: fast, accurate, has enough arm strength for all the passes. What I love the most though are his intangibles, which he put on display his Senior year. He struggled with injuries which hurt his stats yet he racked up some W's and never complained, that's what I want in my QB. With this pick, the Bengals now have insurance if Palmer sticks to his word and a future QB if he doesn't.
