From General Manager droom: Let me start off by saying Marcus Cannon is HUGE! Standing at 6' 5" and weighing 350 pounds, the man will instantly bulk up the O-Line. Projected as a RT, Cannon would fill a big need on the line that was left when Levi Brown was converted to LT last season. Marcus does lack quickness which could prove problematic with NFL pass rushers who specialize in getting of the line as fast as possible. If he cannot adjust to the speed of the NFL, Cannon can be converted to an interior linemen and be valuable in that position. Marcus was part of a strong line in TCU that set school records for points scored, TCU was also in top 10 in the nation for rushing and sacks allowed. The Cardinals are looking for Cannon to bring his production up to the NFL level and improve both their pass and run blocking.
While this pick is a reach at the top of the 2nd round, the Cardinals watched their big board whittle away at the end of the first and start of the second. With the O-Line being one of their most glaring weaknesses, Arizona did not want to risk waiting till the mid rounds to start addressing the issue.
