Lost in all the Kyle Orton hooplah is the fact the Broncos need to address their defensive line. One move was made yesterday when the team traded wide receiver Jabar Gaffney to the Washington Redskins for lineman Jeremy Jarmon.
More moves along the defensive front are likely as well, including news that Carolina Panthers free-agent Derek Landri will visit with the team Thursday and Friday. Landri is going into his 5th season in the NFL, spending his first four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and with John Fox in Carolina. Originally a 5th round pick by the Jaguars in the 2007 NFL Draft, Landri started all 16 games for Carolina in 2010, registering 46 tackles and 3 sacks. It was the first time in his career he was counted on to start.
Landri(6-2, 290) was considered one of the Top-10 Draft Steals in 2007 by Sports Illustrated, and at 27 years old should be entering the prime of his career right now.
