Put the speculation to bed and let's look forward to the regular season. Kyle Orton will be the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos. Kyle has taken the majority of snaps with the first team offense, including both preseason starts. Tim Tebow and Brady Quinn will be battling it out for the backup role, but for now, at least we know who the starter is.

This may not come as much surprise to most, given that Orton is the veteran of the group and has received most first team reps, but I don't think there's any doubt that this announcement will be questioned. Many Broncos fans have been clamoring for Tim Tebow to get a shot at the starting role. I don't expect those talks to go away, any time soon. Just because the quarterback competition has been settled, it doesn't mean that the conversation has been settled.

It's a shame, too, because Kyle Orton has looked really good in preseason. He is playing with a chip on his shoulder, probably a result of all the trade rumors and Tebow-mania. Whatever the case may be, as a Broncos fan, I just hope that he continues to get the job done once the regular season begins.

Go Broncos!!!
