Broncos Make First Round of Cuts

It was bound to happen, the Denver Broncos took a little longer to announce their cuts. Likely the team wanted to see who would be available before they decided who to let go from their own roster.

The interesting conundrum this season is almost a common problem for the Broncos as of recently-- injuries. The Broncos are missing a significant amount of players that were predicted to either start or carry a significant amount of playing time.

Syd'quan Thompson is out for the season, Demariyus Thomas may or may not be able to play by week six. DJ Williams is out at least the first week if not more, defensive tackles Ty Warren (out an unannounced amount of time) and Marcus Thomas (also an unknown amount of missed time). Also rookie linebacker Nate Irving will likely miss at least the first week.

Denver's cuts are listed after the jump.

The Broncos have cut:
  • WR David Anderson released
  • DE Jeremy Beal waived
  • CB Brandon Bing waived
  • LB Alvin Bowen waived
  • DT Ronnell Brown waived
  • G Jeff Byers waived
  • CB Perrish Cox waived
  • G Stanley Daniels waived
  • WR Britt Davis waived
  • WR D'Andre Goodwin waived
  • T Adam Grant waived
  • TE Dan Gronkowski waived
  • K Steven Hauschka waived
  • DT Jeremy Jarmon waived
  • RB Jeremiah Johnson waived
  • S Kyle McCarthy waived
  • G Eric Olsen waived
  • WR Greg Orton waived
  • DT DeMario Pressley waived
  • WR Eron Riley waived
  • LB Lee Robinson waived
  • TE Dante Rosario released
  • RB Austin Sylvester waived
  • QB Adam Weber waived

WR Jamel Hamler, CB Syd'Quan Thompson and WR Jamel Hamler were all placed on injured reserve.

Remember that some if not most of these players still have practice squad eligibility. So if they clear waivers the Broncos are free to sign them to the practice squad.
