Denver Broncos safety Brian Dawkins was notified by the National Football League on Thursday that he was added to the 2012 Pro Bowl roster. He replaces Pittsburgh safety Troy Polamalu, who will not participate in the league's annual All-Star Game due to injury.
The selection marks Dawkins' second Pro Bowl with the Broncos and the ninth of his career to tie him with John Lynch for the second-most all-time among safeties. Dawkins, who played 14 games (12 starts) in 2011, totaled 51 tackles (31 solo), three sacks (38 yds.), six passes defensed and one forced fumble for the Broncos.
