The Broncos first 6 weeks have been a rough one. Through the first six weeks, Denver's opponents combined record is (23-14). Pretty tough if you ask me. In those six games, the Broncos faced three 1st place teams (New England, Houston, and Atlanta) and the two teams with the best record in the NFL (Atlanta and Houston). They had two divisional games in those 6 weeks, and came out 2-0. Right now the Broncos have the 6th ranked Offense and the 11th ranked defense in the league. So taking a step back and looking at our team after 6 games, we have a pretty good team. Now lets take a look at what lies ahead for this Bronco team...
Week 8: New Orleans Saints (2-4) @ Denver
I'm not overlooking this game. Anytime Drew Brees comes to town, it's going to be a tough game. The Saints are coming off two wins against the Charger and Bucs, and are getting their Interm-Coach back. That New Orleans Saints offense is tough. They have the 3rd ranked overall offense, number 1 ranked pass offense and 32nd rush offense. What's killing the Saints this year (outside of not having their Head Coach...) is that defense. The Saints have the 31st ranked defense in the league, and they're giving up 30.3 points per game. So Peyton and company should have no problem with this defense. Brees will make it a close game, but I think we come away with a Win
Week 9: Denver @ Cincinnati Bengals (3-4)
Cincy is a pretty up and down team it seems. They have a stud WR in AJ Green and sophomore QB Andy Dalton, so you can expect inconsistency from both. The Bengals rank 17th in the NFL in offense right now and 18thin defense, so they're a very beatable team right now. However, if I remember correctly, Denver doesn't fair very well in Cincinnati, so that has to be factored in. Outside of that, this is a very winnable game for the Broncos. I say they come out with a Win.
Week 10: Denver @ Carolina Panthers (1-5)
Two east coast games in a row could be an issue for the Broncos, so that's something to keep an eye on, but this is another very winnable game for the Broncos. Cam Newton is still an athletic freak, but is really struggling this year. Newton has 1387 yards, 5 TD's and 6 Ints. Carolina has the 24th ranked offense and 21st ranked defense. So again, Peyton Manning shouldn't have any issues with this team. My only concerns is if Cam Newton goes crazy and playing two straight east coast games. I still say the Broncos Win.
Week 11: San Diego Chargers (3-3)@ Denver Broncos
Division games are always tough and San Diego is our toughest competition in the division. Phillip Rivers is dangerous, and they do have a respectable defense, so it won't be an easy game. The Broncos can win this game, but like I said every division game is tough. I still think Denver comes out with a Win.
Week 12: Denver @ Kansas City Chiefs(1-5)A game at Arrowhead is never easy, but this KC team isn't very good at all. They're juggling between two QB's right now, which is never a recipe for success. KC does have the 8th ranked offense right now, and 15h ranked defense. This game does have upset written all over it, but I can't do it. I say Denver comes out with another division Win.
Week 13: Tampa Bay Bucs (2-4) @ Denver
This is one of those games I'm worried about. Tampa is a young, talented team under a new coach. This game can be an upset. Freeman is coming into his own and has Doug Martin and Vincent Jackson, so they do have playmakers. The Buc's have the 20th ranked offense right now (they were 30th ranked three weeks ago though) so this offense could be jelling at the right time. I am on the fence about this game, but I still think Denver can come out with a Win.
Week 14: Denver @ Oakland Raiders (2-4)
This game is a Thursday night matchup and I have a bad feeling about it. Denver has to travel on a short week, I just don't like the looks of this. Yes Denver did beat up Oakland earlier this year, but I think Denver loses a close one here, Loss.
Week 15: Denver @ Baltimore (5-2)
This will be an interesting game. This isn't the same Baltimore Ravens defense that we all are accustomed to seeing. They are without Ray Lewis and Ladarius Webb, and looked terrible without them this past weekend. Alot can change during this time, but i don't think it will. This game will be a tough one, but I believe Denver finally wins one in Baltimore, Win.
Week 16: Cleveland Browns (1-6) @ Denver
This should be an easy win for the Broncos. Brandon Weeden doesn't scare me in the least bit. Trent Richardson is tough, but without a good passing game, the Broncos should be able to control Richardson. I say Denver comes out with an easy Win.
Week 17: Kansas City Chiefs (1-5) @ Denver
It will be interesting to see how this team is playing in the final week of the season. KC probably will be fighting for a top 5 pick in the draft, if not the first overall pick, so it will be interesting to see if this team has just mailed it in or not. Always need to look out for those fighting for nothing teams who can upset a playoff contending team as well. I still see Denver coming out with a win here, KC is just not very good, Win.
Overview: The Broncos remaining opponents have a combined record of (21-42). That's a pretty damn easy schedule, especially with Peyton Manning at QB. Every division game is tough, but neither the Chargers, Raiders or Chiefs really worry me. If the Broncos can't beat either of those 3 teams, they do not deserve to be in the playoffs. Outside of the division games, Baltimore is our toughest game left, but Baltimore isn't the same Baltimore that we are used to seeing. There are some toss up games ahead though. Cincy, Carolina, Tampa and the Saints all could go either way. All are winnable games, but you never know in the NFL. I can't see Denver doing any worse than 9-7 with this remaining schedule. What do you guys think?
