For the 4th time in his career, Denver Broncos Placekicker Matt Prater has been named AFC Special Teams Player of theWeek. This morning, the Denver Broncos released a statement announcing Prater's honor by the National FootballLeague.

Matt converted all three Field Goal Attempts against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, hitting from 21, 43 and 53 yards respectively. He also achieved touchbacks on all eight of his kickoffs, a feat that hasn't been done in the past 10 years.

His 53-yarder in the 4th Quarter added to his career percentage on 50+ yard Field Goals to 14/18 (77.8%), a post 1970's NFL record.

So far this season, Prater is 7 for 7 on Field Goal Attempts and 11 for 11 on Extra Points.

I don't think his 0 for 1 passing stat was factored into this honor.
