This an AFC West battle that could have playoff implications, at the end of the year. Of course, that statement doesn't include the Chiefs, who are fighting with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers as the only teams with 1 win on the season.
The Chiefs are entering this week as the first team to enter week 9 without leading in regulation since... ever.
It has never been done before. It's even more surprising that they were actually able to win a game against the Saints and still hold that statistic. (They tied the game in the 4th quarter and won in overtime.)
The y are bad. Really bad. So bad, in fact, that they decided to let Brady Quinn get a crack at the starting quarterback job after Matt Cassel disappionted, early in the season. The same Brady Quinn that was a third string quarterback for the Denver Broncos behind Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow.
I wonder if the Chiefs wished they would have traded for Tim Tebow last season?
Anyways, this game is certainly meaningful for the San Diego Chargers, who lost last week to the Browns a week after Peyton Manning and the Broncos overcame a 24 point halftime deficit in week 6. They need to win this game to keep in touch with the AFC West lead as the season progresses.
It should be an interesting game.
As a Broncos fan, this is one of the few times we get to say... Go Chiefs!!!
