On This Day in Broncos History: November 3

Who remembers Bill Groman?

Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

November 3, 1963 - In 1963, the Broncos acquired WR Bill Groman from the Houston Oilers. He appeared in all fourteen games for Denver in 1963, but recorded statistics in only ten of them. As a Bronco, he caught 27 passes for 437 yards and 3 touchdowns.

On November 3, 1963, the Broncos hosted the Buffalo Bills. In that game, Gorman caught just two passes . . . but both of those passes were touchdown plays in the second quarter and gave Denver a 14-7 lead. The first was a 45-yard pass from QB Don Breaux (who played in only two games for Denver, both in 1963). The second was a 27-yard pass from Breaux. A moment in the spotlight for a barely remembered Bronco.
