Denver Broncos Week 9 Rookie Report

The Broncos defeated the Bengals and elsewhere around the league, rookies continue to be the big story.

RONNIE HILLMAN had a quiet day. He only had one carry for four yards and one reception for one yard. The Broncos struggled running the ball most of the game til late and then got themselves in a position where they had to pass.

DEREK WOLFE had 2 tackles and 4 assisted tackles and also deflected a pass. He played 68 snaps which was good for 89% of the teams total defensive snaps. Also Wolfe was on for 6 special teams plays.

DANNY TREVETHAN had one tackle and five assists plus a sack that he got with Andy Dalton trying to run. Trevathan played 32 plays on defense and 3 on defense.

OMAR BOLDEN had one tackle and played only 16 snaps with just two coming on defense. He seems to have also lost his return job to Trindon Holliday.

DUKE IHENACHO and STEVEN JOHNSON played only on special teams. Duke got 7 plays and Johnson 17. Both had an assisted tackle.

AROUND THE NFL

ANDREW LUCK had an incredible game in the Colts victory.Luck went 30/48 for 433 yards and 2 touchdowns. Luck leads all rookies in passing yards per game with 300.5. Fellow rookie opponent RYAN TANNEHILL did not have a bad game either. He threw 22/38 for 290 yards and one touchdown in the loss.

ROBERT GRIFFIN III went 23 of 39 for 215 yards. RG3 has cooled off from his amazing start only scoring one touchdown in his last 2 games combined.

RUSSELL WILSON had a great game in his win over the Vikings. He completed 16 of 24 passes for 173 yards and 3 TDs. He has 13 TD passes on the season which leads all rookies.

DOUG MARTIN continues to run through opposing defenses including the Raiders this past Sunday. Martin ran 25 times for 251 yards and 4 touchdowns. He probably could have broken the single game record had the Bucs not stopped handing him the ball. Martin became the first player in NFL history to have touchdown runs of at least 45, 65 and 70 in one game. Martin also passed ALFRED MORRIS for the rookie rushing lead. Morris had 13 carries for 76 yards.

BOBBY WAGNER had 10 tackles, a sack, and a QB hit vs Seattle in a win over the Vikings. He is second in rookie tackles and tied for second in tackles for a loss.

MARK BARRON had four tackles vs the Raiders and on the year has 48 tackles, seven passes defended and one pick and a FF.
