On This Day in Broncos History: December 14

Floyd Little's Last Home Game

Justin Edmonds

December 14, 1975 - On this Sunday afternoon, the 5-7-0 Broncos hosted the 3-9-0 Philadelphia Eagles. That game proved to be the last home game played by Denver's Hall of Fame running back, Floyd Little. Little treated the hometown crowd to a good show. He gained 56 yards on 19 carries and scored a rushing touchdown. Little added 94 yards on 5 receptions and scored a touchdown on a 66-yard pass play. The receiving touchdown came in the third quarter and gave the Broncos a 16-10 lead after the PAT attempt failed. It is fitting that the final score of the game was 2-yard touchdown run by Little with just under two minutes left in the game. The official Game Book for the game describes him as having run "at right tackle goes in untouched." It is also fitting that the final play of the game was a 4-yard run by Little.
