December 27, 1998 - John Elway threw his 300th touchdown pass in a regular season game. It was also the last touchdown pass he would throw in a regular season game -- although he did go on to throw a touchdown pass in each of the Broncos' three postseason games that year.
The Broncos were hosting the Seattle Seahawks in the final game of the 1998 season. Denver began this drive with 4:37 left in the third quarter on their own 12-yard line. They reached the Seattle 35-yard line as the third quarter ended. They used the first 3:10 of the fourth getting to the Seahawks' 1-yard line. On 4-1-SEA1, Elway connected with TE Shannon Sharpe for a 1-yard touchdown.
Elway was only the third quarterback to accomplish this feat in the years between 1960 and 1998. The other two were Miami QB Dan Marino -- 408 TD passes by 1998, he threw 12 more in 1999 -- and Minnesota/New York Giants QB Fran Tarkenton -- 342 TD passes between 1961 and 1978.
