According to Howard Balzer on Twitter, the Denver Broncos have re-signed restricted free agent Matthew Willis:
Willis has been with the Broncos for three years and played in all 16 games last season. The former UCLA track star is an undrafted free agent who was originally signed by the Baltimore Ravens in 2007, and he caught on with the Broncos in 2009.
He has looked great in spots as a speedy receiver, but it's a mystery to me why he hasn't been able to be more effective in the return game. Perhaps the Broncos think he can emerge in camp as he did in 2010, when he made the roster over freshly signed Brandon Stokley.
Last season, Willis has 18 receptions for 267 yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Tennessee Titans.
Willis' one-year contract is worth $1.26 million.
