With the 22nd pick in the 2012 MHR Community Mock draft, the Cleveland Browns select:

Ryan Tannehill, Quarterback, Texas A&M

Browns' GM: DBroncs1414

GM Explanation: As I said before with the 4th pick, McCoy is not the answer. I also said I didn't like Tannehills value at 4, but here I can't pass him up. He has all the tools to be a franchise QB, and although he's pretty far behind mentally its very encouraging seeing how much he has picked up in such a short span. I also made this pick knowing that McCoy may not be franchise QB worthy, but hes good enough to start a season or 2 if Tannehill needs to sit yet on a cheap enough contract to demote him to backup whenever Tannehills ready.

A QB with this much potential is impossible to pass on this late in the first when my team has such a mediocre QB. Also I would be, and I know Holmgren and Shurmur would be as well, very excited to build a foundation for the future of this offense around Blackmon and Tannehill

Commissioner's analysis: I agree, at this point the Browns really can't pass up on Tannehill. This is about where I have his value right now, but I think he's going to actually be drafted much higher than this. There are rumors out there that he won't sneak past Seattle at 12, so if he falls this far I'll be shocked. I think he brings an interesting dynamic to the Browns. If he is able to come in and sit for a year, he could be really effective. The former wide receiver only started for about a year and a half, but his upside is excellent. If the Browns can find a way to get him here, it's great value.
