After much waiting and anticipation - and a couple trades - the Denver Broncos ended the first day of the 2012 NFL Draft with an extra pick and no new players. After trading down from #25 to #31 with the New England Patriots earlier in the first round, the Broncos exited the 1st Round completely when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved up to #31, pushing the Broncos to #36.
The Broncos, when it was all said and done, ended up with an extra 4th Round pick(#101) for their efforts, which the Patriots(LB Donte Hightower) and Bucs(RB Doug Martin) got players than many Broncos fans were hoping might end up in Orange and Blue by the end of the day.
The Broncos have plenty of picks to work with, now, with 6 of the next 84 selections owned by the Broncos. Chances are the trade machine isn't done, either, with the Broncos owning three 4th Round picks, plenty of ammo to move back into the 3rd Round tomorrow.
