About noon Mountain Time today, about 6,000 Denver Broncos season ticket holders were able to visit and ask questions with Broncos Executive V.P. of football operations John Elway and head coach John Fox. A sort of "State of the Team address" if you will. I personally was unable to listen in live, but I do have some interesting points due to the marvels of the Twitterverse. Those of you who do not Tweet will likely find this post as informative as I did while gathering the information.
I have some Tweets from Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post, but most are straight from the official team Twitter. Enjoy.
Apparently, the conference call began with Elway addressing the callers.
Next, John Fox made a few statements.
One of the callers must have asked about the Defense.
Next, John Elway talked about 3rd round draft pick Running Back Ronnie Hillman.
"To be able to have a weapon like Ronnie Hillman, he's a lot like a Sproles. You can get great matchups,,,,Great change-of-pace back."
Here we find out that Devon Still and Jerel Worthy were not going to be drafted by the Broncos.
Another caller asked about Wide Receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker.
On 2nd round draft pick Quarterback Brock Osweiler.
On the Rookie Mini Camp.
We even got word about Linebacker Nate Irving.
And a few words about the Special Teams Unit.
Fox on Special Teams: "Probably the biggest loss was losing Eddie Royal. But we got a young man in Eric Page from Toledo who can step in."
Some welcome news on the injury front. Per Lindsay Jones
Elway said Chris Kuper is recovering "very well" from ankle injury. (He) Could be ready as soon as June.
I also caught this Tweet from Julius Thomas, so naturally I had to add it.
So excited to get off these crutches this week.
That's all I could glean from the phone conference. Perkaps they will have it up on a podcast on the team site, but I haven't seen anything as yet. For those of you who called in, please share anything pertinent.
