About noon Mountain Time today, about 6,000 Denver Broncos season ticket holders were able to visit and ask questions with Broncos Executive V.P. of football operations John Elway and head coach John Fox. A sort of "State of the Team address" if you will. I personally was unable to listen in live, but I do have some interesting points due to the marvels of the Twitterverse. Those of you who do not Tweet will likely find this post as informative as I did while gathering the information.
I have some Tweets from Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post, but most are straight from the official team Twitter. Enjoy.

Apparently, the conference call began with Elway addressing the callers.

Elway on the draft: "I thought we did well...We hit some areas of need with some very good football players."

Next, John Fox made a few statements.

Fox said defenses aren't going to catch Hillman. "As far as WR sets, a lot of that is situational. We feel good about our WR corps."

One of the callers must have asked about the Defense.

Fox: "The best pass defense in the world is a pass rush...it's something we're building on." Said edge rush is solid, getting better at DT.

Next, John Elway talked about 3rd round draft pick Running Back Ronnie Hillman.

"To be able to have a weapon like Ronnie Hillman, he's a lot like a Sproles. You can get great matchups,,,,Great change-of-pace back."

Here we find out that Devon Still and Jerel Worthy were not going to be drafted by the Broncos.

Elway said the team had DT Derek Wolfe targeted the whole time and benefitted from moving back in the draft. Heard BAL had him high as well.

Another caller asked about Wide Receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker.

Fox on Decker and Thomas being named as breakout players for 2012: "I would not hesitate to put either one of them on that list."

On 2nd round draft pick Quarterback Brock Osweiler.

Elway on Osweiler: "It's always tough to pick a QB you know isn't going to play for a while, but we have high hopes for him in the future."

On the Rookie Mini Camp.

Fox on rookies after minicamp: "I was very impressed...their workout, focus and toughness was very impressive...they should make us better."

We even got word about Linebacker Nate Irving.

Fox on LB Nate Irving: "He's a growing player. He's definitely got the athleticism and ability...we're looking for big things this year."

And a few words about the Special Teams Unit.

Fox on Special Teams: "Probably the biggest loss was losing Eddie Royal. But we got a young man in Eric Page from Toledo who can step in."

Fox on new DL Coach Jay Rodgers: "He's got really good knowledge for a young, energetic coach...The transition will be really smooth."

Some welcome news on the injury front. Per Lindsay Jones

Elway said Chris Kuper is recovering "very well" from ankle injury. (He) Could be ready as soon as June.

Fox on Rahim Moore: "He’s a guy that we have not lost faith in." Said Rahim has had a good offseason, gained some muscle.

I also caught this Tweet from Julius Thomas, so naturally I had to add it.

So excited to get off these crutches this week.

That's all I could glean from the phone conference. Perkaps they will have it up on a podcast on the team site, but I haven't seen anything as yet. For those of you who called in, please share anything pertinent.
