If you haven't heard, the Jacksonville Jaguars and running back, Maurice Jones-Drew aren't getting along right now. MJD, wants a new contract, and owner Shad Khan isn't giving in. So MJD has been holding out, and today owner Shad Khan was quoted saying
"Train is leaving the station. Run, get on it,"

Basically implying that, MJD better show up, or the train(the team/front office) is moving on without him. That apparently did not sit well with MJD. Especially that Khan is going public with these comments. Now Jones-Drew is also now open to being traded, sources close to the situation told insider Adam Schefter. So now as you can expect, twitter blew up with rumors and speculation. One rumor/speculation that caught my eye was from rumor man, Incarcerated Bob on twitter. Now first let me say this, he isn't always right, and is a sketchy source, but was the first to report that Manning would be a Bronco. Now back to the rumor, he goes on to tweet this.
"Source: Teams have started calling Jags about the availability of MJD so far Broncos seem the most interested"
What should we make of this potentially exciting news? Well lets jump and find out!
Again, lets remember that this rumor is just that, a rumor. Nothing else has been reported, and there's a lot of conflicting reports out there saying there's "No Way!" that MJD gets traded. Now i think John Elway would make this trade. Elway of all people know the importance of a strong running game, Elway and Fox seem to be in a win now mode, and it would be a real asset to QB Peyton Manning. It would also give the Broncos a three headed monster at the running back position. MJD as the starter, McGahee in the same role that he had in Baltimore, and Hillman as the third down/scat/change of pace back. Would be a deadly trio. So to me, it would make perfect sense
Now if we do acquire him, he would require a new long-term contract, and we would have to give up some picks and possibly a player to get him. He would probably be asking for a Chris Johnson/Matt Forte/Adrian Peterson type contract, which would be pretty pricey. Also since we'll have to trade for him, we probably would have to give up a 2nd round pick or more and a player to get MJD. A player who could be traded is RB Knowshon Moreno, but that's just speculation on my part.
It's something to keep an eye on. We will probably know more as the week goes on. If we do acquire MJD, here's the production we would be getting.
