Denver Broncos at Atlanta Falcons Open Game Thread

DENVER BRONCOS AT ATLANTA FALCONS

September 17th, 2012

Georgia Dome

There is than a half hour until kickoff in Atlanta and, I can't speak for everyone, but I know of at least one Broncos fan who had a very unproductive Monday because of the anticipation of the upcoming Broncos vs Falcons match up. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed the terrible performances by the Chiefs and Raiders, yesterday, but it wasn't enough to satiate the immense anticipation that always comes with Broncos football.

It's almost time.

The Broncos are looking to keep up with the 2-0 San Diego Chargers. With a win tonight against the Falcons, the Broncos will be able to maintain a tie for the top spot in the AFC West. However, even with a loss, the Broncos could still feel food about their chances if they hang tough with the Atlanta Falcons, who are considered one of the league's best teams thanks to the emergence of Matt Ryan and the growth of Julio Jones. The Chiefs couldn't hang with the Falcons in Week 1, allowing the Falcons to score on each of their first 7 possessions of the football game.

Hopefully, that doesn't happen tonight in Atlanta.

If the Broncos are going to win, they need Von Miller, Elvis Dumervil and Derek Wolfe to continue bringing pressure on the quarterback. If Matt Ryan is given time in the pocket, he can pick apart a defense. Peyton Manning is Peyton Manning, as we all know, and should keep us in the game, regardless of how the defense plays, but the defense needs to force turnovers or 3 and outs for the Broncos to be successful.

The pace should be pretty fast, considering both teams use a no-huddle offense, which should lead to an exciting game. Here's hoping that the Broncos stay undefeated.

Go Broncos!
