September 19, 2010 -- In a season that will be forever remembered as "that 4-12 season that spelled the end of Kyle Orton and Josh McDaniels" there was one bright moment. The 0-1 Denver Broncos hosted the 1-0 Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks had routed the SF 49ers 31-6 to open their 2010 season. Denver came to play and went on to rout Seattle 31-14.
The Broncos jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a 13-yard Orton to WR Eddie Royal pass. Correll Buckhalter made it 14-0 in the second on a 1-yard run. Matt Prater's 20-yard field goal completed the first half scoring and gave the Broncos a 17-0 halftime lead. After the Seahawks made it a 17-7 game in the third, RB Knowshon Moreno added another touchdown on a 1-yard tun for a 24-7 lead at the end of three quarters. Orton connected with WR Demaryius Thomas on a 21-yard touchdown pass to close out Denver's scoring. Seattle managed one final touchdown in the fourth quarter to give the game its final margin of 31-14.
