A time where "winning" doesn’t matter…

I had been visiting this site for some time before I choose to sign up as a member. I finally did right about the time the Tebow bashing began which has made some call me a Tebow fan not a Bronco fan. I can see how that statement can be seen. I have over the last few years voiced my opinions of Timmy Tebow very strongly and at times over zealous. I’m not sure who was happier when it was announced that Denver took Tebow, Tebow himself, Sayre or me and because of that excitement it has caused many to call me a Tebow fan, a fair weather fan, a Bandwagon-Jumper, and not a “true” Bronco fan. Well that might be right, maybe I’m not a “true fan” but I know without question I am a Die Hard Bronco! My blood is blue and my bones are orange!

Every week because of the efforts that Kapt Kirk (and others?) put in the Mile High Report has a weekly prediction contest. The rules of this contest are simple pick the final score of the Bronco game and the closest to the actual score wins the prize. Most of the prizes are possible because of the efforts of so few. The one’s who travel, give up their days, sit in the heat, hide from rain, and stand in line to get the autograph/s of a Bronco, just to give it away. After weeks and weeks of trying my score was finally the closest. I was picked the winner! Just one problem…My pick was for a Bronco loss, so this is so bitter sweet. My heart said Denver can’t lose my head on the other hand said something else. I choose to use my head instead of my heart. Now even as simple as the rules are, every game has unwritten rules that should be followed. I have to think that if you pick a Bronco loss no matter the outcome you shouldn’t be a winner. If my team lost, I should too. Even after the weeks of trying I must forfeit this win. Now I know that not everyone will see this as I do, but my plea is that you understand my choice. I’m not asking that every person who picks the closest score or even the exact score forfeit it if the Broncos lose - I’m just saying I can’t accept it. I can’t accept a loss but take the prize in defeat. So please add the hat back into the collection and save it for a time when we all win. I’ll keep my picks coming and my time will come, but I won’t win in a loss no matter how excited I am to win the prize.

Thanks to everyone who makes this site possible. To all the players, coaches, writers, fans, and anyone else who just stop by to say hello or troll. We need you and your work doesn’t go unnoticed! Thanks for finding ways for us to take home a prize by standing in those lines, giving up your time, and making this the only place to go for "true" Die Hard fans!
