HOUSTON TEXANS AT DENVER BRONCOS

September 23rd, 2012

Sports Authority Field at Mile High

Gary Kubiak comes back to Denver, today. How about that? John Elway and Gary Kubiak have quite the history, as many of you know. They were both drafted in 1983 by the Denver Broncos and Gary Kubiak served as John Elway's backup for his entire career. In 9 seasons with the Denver Broncos, Kubiak went 3-2 as a starter, throwing 14 TDs, 16 INTs and 1,920 yards.

Today, John Elway is the Vice President of Football Operations for the Denver Broncos and Gary Kubiak comes as the head coach of the Houston Texans. Although, neither will lace up their cleats and take the field, their impact can be felt on each sideline.

Between the lines, two teams will battle for AFC supremacy. Each game of the regular season is important, and this one is no different, but there's something more meaningful about this game given the trajectory of each team's potential, thus far. Although it's only week 3, this game could have playoff seeding implications, down the road.

For the Broncos to win, Elvis Dumervil needs to make his acquaintance with Matt Schaub. He has been quiet, thus far, in this young NFL season. That needs to change. The Broncos defense is much more potent when he and Von Miller are coming off both edges like two hungry lions. Peyton Manning needs to limit his mistakes and keep possession of the ball, something he failed to do last week against the Falcons.

Overall, it should be a great game. Use the comment section, below, and chat with fellow Broncos fans as the game unfolds.
