What was rumored on Monday has come to pass on Tuesday with Adam Schefter reporting that the NFL has given Broncos' linebacker Joe Mays a 1-game suspension for his hit on Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub.
NFL suspended Broncos LB Joe Mays for one game for the helmet-to-helmet hit he put on Texans QB Matt Schaub. Mays is appealing suspension.

Mays was also hit with a $50,000 fine.
Schaub left the game for one play before returning and told reporters after the game that he lost part of his ear during the collision. Mays has since apologized to Schaub on two different occasions, but the NFL has come down hard on the Broncos starting middle linebacker. Mays has appealed the suspension. No word on when that appeal might be heard by the NFL.
