The Denver Broncos on Saturday signed safety Duke Ihenacho and linebacker Mike Mohamed to their active roster from the practice squad, it was announced.
Also on Saturday, the Broncos placed safety Quinton Carter (knee) on injured reserve.
Ihenacho (pronounced EE-ah-NAH-cho) is a rookie who spent the first three weeks of the season on the club's practice squad after being signed by the Broncos as a college free agent on May 3. He played all four preseason games for Denver, totaling six defensive stops and one special-teams tackle.
Mohamed, who was added to the club's practice squad on Thursday, is a second-year player who saw action in two games for the Broncos as a rookie last season after being selected by the club in the sixth round (189th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. He spent nine weeks on Denver's practice squad in 2011 in addition to seven total weeks on the team's active roster.
Carter competed in Denver's first three games this season and tied for second on the team with two special-teams tackles a year after opening 10-of-16 contests as a rookie for the Broncos.
