AFC Wildcard Open Thread: Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans

Bob Levey

It's time to kick off the 2013 NFL playoffs. For the first matchup, we have the Cincinnati Bengals playing at the Houston Texans.

The Texans essentially stumbled into the playoffs. They forfeited their first round bye by losing 3 of their last 4 games, allowing our beloved Broncos to take the number one seed.

The Bengals, on the other hand, came roaring into the playoffs. They have won 7 of their past 8 games with the only loss coming in the form of a 1 point heart breaker at home against the Cowboys. It seems that getting beat at home by the Broncos was the turning point of their season. Since that game in week 9, the Bengals have played some excellent football behind the young Andy Dalton and AJ Green.

If we're going by momentum, alone, the Bengals should nab their first playoff win since 1990... Ironically, that year they beat the Houston Oilers in the wildcard round. Deja vu?
