Broncos Sign Two To Futures Contracts

Offensive Lineman and Wide Receiver will join team following the Super Bowl.

Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

The Denver Broncos announced Monday afternoon that they have signed two players to futures contracts.

Wide Receiver Gerell Robinson, a 6'3", 227 lb. rookie out of Arizona State, signed with the Broncos as an Undrafted College Free Agent following the 2012 NFL Draft. He caught 4 passes for 53 yards during the preseason before being waived in the final cuts. He signed with the Arizona Cardinals a few weeks later and rode the Practice Squad for most of the season. Gerell had 135 receptions for 2,071 yards and 12 Touchdowns at Arizona State.

Offensive Guard Justin Boren, is a 6'3", 315 lb., 1st year player out of Ohio State. He was signed by the Baltimore Ravens after the 2011 NFL Lockout and placed on their Practice Squad. The Ravens activated Boren during the Bye week in the 2011-12 playoffs, but he never saw any playing time. Near the end of Training Camp this past Summer, Boren suffered a foot injury that landed him on Injured Reserve. He received an injury settlement later that week and gained his release. Two months later (November, 2012), Justin was signed by the Detroit Lions to their Practice Squad, so the injury must not have been serious.

Robinson has 2 seasons and Boren one season remaining of Practice Squad eligibility. They will join the team after the Super Bowl.

Go Broncos!
