Twitter Telephone leads to big misunderstanding

Ever play telephone as a kid? Usually did it in school. You would have one kid whisper something into another kids ear, that kid would pass what he heard onto the next kid, so on and so forth until the last one would announce to the class what he had heard. The goal was to repeat what was said from the beginning, and I can never remember it happening that way. What was said at the very end was always a ridiculous and false misrepresentation of what was said from the beginning.

Fast forward to this morning. I'm minding my own business when Topher comes into the chat room and says "did you see what David Bruton was posting? Weird."

Us being Broncos bloggers then start jumping to conclusions. "OH MY GOD, IS IT PEYTON? IS SOMEONE GOING ON IR? DID DAVID GET HURT BADLY???? IT MUST BE SOMETHING BAD."

Then insert foot into mouth Bronco Mike:

Which gets the attention of Broncos fans and spawns the following hysteria:

Which then is followed up by this tweet:

RUH ROH, IS HE HURT? DID HE THINK HE WOULD BE STARTING AND WAS TOLD HE ISN'T???

Other folks had a different take....and expressed it to #30

A song lyric turns into speculation about Manning, the team, a player, a player's health, a player's will, and in the end, it was all just one big electronic game of telephone on twitter.

My sincere apologies to David Bruton for turning a grain of sand into a beach!

In the end, I blame Topher :P
