Peyton Manning is named Week 16 AFC Offensive Player of the Week

Peyton Manning's record breaking performance against the Houston Texans has earned him player of the week honors.

Thomas Campbell-USA TODAY Sports

Peyton dazzled with a 32-51 performance that included 400 yards, 4 touchdown passes, and that all important 51st touchdown pass of the season. With a 25-yard strike to Julius Thomas in the 4th quarter, Manning broke Tom Brady's single season touchdown record. It marked the 7th time in his career that he threw for 400 yards and 4 touchdowns in the same game, tying a record held by All-time great Dan Marino.

Manning is used to taking down this weekly honor as this latest award marks the 26th time in his career that he has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Of course this is also a record. Manning is two ahead of rival Tom Brady and eight ahead of Dan Marino in 3rd place. Denver's very own John Elway earned the award 15 times and sits 6h on the All-time list for this award. Peyton had previously been named the AFC OPOW this season for his performances against the Baltimore Ravens, and Oakland Raiders.
