Who to root for
Miami Dolphins. Easily the best choice for Broncos fans as there is certainly no love lost between us and teams like the San Diego Chargers or Baltimore Ravens. Miami will face either the Indianapolis Colts or Cincinnati Bengals in the first round, which means they'll be one and done more than likely. I am not so sure about the Ravens and Chargers being one and done though.
Washington Redskins. The Redskins have been far more competitive since Mike Shanahan made the decision to start Kirk Cousins, so what better way to end his tenure in Washington than with a win against a hated division rival with the quarterback he has wanted to start all season long. It would be a nice little "screw you" to Daniel Snyder on his way out of town. Personally, I think Shanny and the Lions would be a perfect fit of scheme and current roster talent, but we'll see...
Bengals or Colts. Both of these teams will have a home game in the Wild Card week (provided the New England Patriots hold onto the #2 seed and provided the Broncos take care of business too), so its just a matter of rooting against the team you'd rather see the Broncos face in the second round of the playoffs. I prefer to let the chips fall as they may, because I recall many fans all giddy and excited to get the lowly Ravens last year in the divisional round. No cockiness from me this year ... just take care of freaking business Denver!
