Peyton Manning and brother Eli are holding their 2013 Manning Passing Camp at Duke University. For Denver Broncos fans, you'll notice Wes Welker, Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker were all in attendance. Not only that, Manning the elder is showing some zip on the balls he is throwing.
Chris Mortenson of ESPN interviewed both brothers and talked about the importance of these early sessions. Peyton Manning had this to say:
It's been great work and great timing with the receivers this early in the offseason, and its certainly more fun, Mort, to be out here knowing what team I'm going to be playing for and not to be in such a rehab situation.
Mortenson went on to comment about how well Peyton and Welker seemed to be gelling so soon after all-pro slot machine signed on the dotted line to become a Denver Bronco. In response, Manning said some things that should have all of us Broncomaniacs jumping for joy heading into the 2013 NFL Season:
(Some) guys you just feel like you have timing with right away. I know we're out here, we're doing one on one's and seven on seven's, but he's a guy who has a great feel for how to get open and understands route concepts.
Offseason workouts do not officially begin until next week, but it looks like the Broncos will continue to be a well-oiled offensive juggernaut. Opposing defenses will be hard pressed to defend against this three-pronged offensive assault.
