Until 1995, the Broncos had a very ugly go of it under the lights. After an initial victory against the Chiefs the Broncos proceeded to lose 7 straight. Outside of one blowout loss to the Redskins, the Broncos lost a lot of close games. With the Beginning of the Shanahan era, Denver saw a renaissance and started to insert it's will over the Raiders. Four straight victories against the felons closed out a 7-4 run to end the decade. BTW--what in the world was Dan Reeves thinking with Tommy Maddox? Through the 90's Broncos Country cheered it's way to a 8-11 record, 6-4 at home, 2-7 on the Road. If you're keeping track, the Broncos are now 4-4-1 against the Raiders. John Elway over the course of his career posted an 8-11 record on MNF.

5 different starting quarterbacks over the course of the past 13 years is the hallmark of this turbulent era. Against the Raiders the Broncos went 3-3 which means the series stands at dead even thus far (7-7-1). Mike Shanahan closed out his coaching stint here with an overall record of 14-13. From 2000-2012 the Broncos went 9-13 (6-5 home, 3-8 road). That makes them 21-13-1 at home (.600) and 7-22 on the road (.241).

Bronco Mike's Top Three Monday Night Games

#3: BM gets to see pre-Uggs Pats lose to Broncos in person (September 7th, 1998)

- My dad took me to see this game, we were way up in the 500's at old Mile High. I don't remember a lot about the game itself, but I do remember the fan experience as one of the greatest I've ever had. Nothing like being a wide-eyed kid treated to and talked to with respect by fellow Broncos fans!

#2: Two all time greats meet again (October 17th, 1994)

Joe Montana v. John Elway. One of the most exciting games ever played. Back and forth, back and forth. Whoever had the ball last was going to win and on this occasion it happened to be Montana and the Chiefs. I've gone back and watched this game several different times and I can't believe how inept our defense was. Poor #7.

#1: Broncos make history against the Chargers (October 15th 2012)

WOW, 24-0 turns into a 35-24 victory. This game propelled one team to tops in the AFC while at the same dooming the other to massive offseason changes. I was seething angry at halftime--I KNEW THE CHARGERS WERE NOT A BETTER TEAM. I also had to hear crap from my brother about Manning's play (he liked Tebow and was upset when they traded him). Something miraculous happened though--my brother put his support behind Manning, called a comeback, and the rest is history. That game was when everything clicked. That is probably going to be in my top 5 all time Broncos memories for years to come.

How about you? What are your favorite games the Broncos played on MNF and what are your recollections after the fact?

Here's hoping 2013 adds more fantastic memories to the history of our storied franchise, GO BRONCOS!!!
