2013 NFL Mock Draft Database -- Updated 4/21/13

This is our final update to the mock draft database prior to the 2013 NFL Draft. I built the database up to my target of 50 mocks and Cornellius "Tank" Carradine easily dominates every other prospect, but after his impressive pro day he may not be available when the Denver Broncos pick 28th on Thursday night.

When this mock draft database began, the defensive tackle position was considered the teams biggest area of need. Then Elvis Dumervil was sent packing and no outsiders believe in Derek Wolfe or Robert Ayers, so the defensive end position took over as the top position of need. I'm of the personal belief that the draft is so deep at the defensive line positions, that John Elway and the Broncos would be best served to take one of the top talents at inside linebacker. Obviously, I would want Manti Te'o, but really it could be Alec Ogletree, Sam Montgomery or Arthur Brown for all I care. As a fan, I'm just tired of seeing opposing tight ends shred an otherwise stout defense.

There could be tons of value picks in the late second round at the defensive end position, so don't be discouraged if the Denver Broncos don't select a pick at that position on Day 1 of the 2013 NFL Draft. Other positions are not as deep, so using a first round pick there would likely be the smartest choice at that point.

Aside from inside linebacker, I think the Broncos could also benefit in the first round with an offensive lineman. Since debating with Kyle Montgomery's over his pick of D.J. Fluker, I've come around to his logic. You can never have enough talent in the trenches. I am not convinced cornerback or defensive tackle are such positions of need that Elway should spend a first round pick on that position unless the value makes is necessary.

All that said, Tank Carradine is the top choice, but defensive end also dominates the top 5 selections. Bjoern Werner, Datone Jones and Damontre Moore could all be donning orange and blue by next weekend. Who do you think the Broncos will end up snatching up in this years draft?
