2013 NFL Draft - Round 1
PICK TEAM PLAYER SCHOOL MHR REACTION
1 KC Eric Fisher, OT Central Michigan Good, smart pick. Hard to go wrong there, Alex Smith is likely happy. ~ Topher Doll
2 JAC Luke Joeckel, OT Texas A&M Not a bad pick, they need to give Gabbert some weapons but keeping him upright is never bad. MJD will appreciate that as well. ~ Topher Doll
3 MIA Dion Jordan, DE/OLB Oregon Jordon is good but they don't really need help there, they need an OT, DT and DB. They already have a good pass rush. ~ Topher Doll
What the hell just happened? ~ Mike Gomez
4 PHI Lane Johnson, OT Oklahoma The Eagles line has so many holes but Vick/Dixon/etc will love a new LT. ~ Topher Doll
5 DET Ezekiel Ansah, DE BYU Ziggy Ansah is a very solid pick for the Lions. They lost Cliff Avril and need a pass rusher. Ziggy is very raw, but his potential is very hard to pass up. Suh, Fairley and Ziggy is a solid young DL for the Lions. ~ Scotty Payne
6 CLE Barkevious Mingo, DE/OLB LSU After the fear of drafting a QB, Mingo makes the Browns good defense even better by adding a great pass rusher to their 3-4 scheme. ~ Topher Doll
7 ARI Johnathan Cooper, OG North Carolina Johnathan Cooper is a rare talent and immediate game-changer. He can play guard or move to center; either way he'll elevate the Cardinals' ground game. ~ Monty
8 STL Tavon Austin, WR West Virginia Tavon Austin is a solid pick for the Rams. He's electric and will be fast on that turf. He is replacing Amendola. Sam Bradford is smiling right now. ~ Scotty Payne
9 NYJ Dee Milliner, CB Alabama Milliner just doesn't seem to make sense. The Jets has the 3rd ranked passing defense last season without Revis, who drafts to their strongest unit? ~ Topher Doll
10 TEN Chance Warmack, OG Alabama Chris Johnson is happy. Warmack is a very solid guard and will step in and start right away for the Titans. ~ Scotty Payne
11 SD D.J. Fluker, OT Alabama Fluker will instantly make Rivers, and the rest of the offense's, life easier by upgrading their offensive line. ~ Topher Doll
12 OAK D.J. Hayden, CB Houston Wow DJ Hayden? Expected Floyd here. Good story here in Hayden who almost died. Gives the Raiders a corner to help defend Peyton Manning. ~ Scotty Payne
13 NYJ Sheldon Richardson, DT Missouri Sheldon Richardson? Well the Jet's defense will be decent but do they want to score any points, Sanchez is likely crying right now. ~ Topher Doll
14 CAR Star Lotulelei, DT Utah Carolina gets a DT a position they really need help at. Star is a steal here. I would have taken him 1 overall. Carolina has to be excited. ~ Scotty Payne
15 NO Kenny Vaccaro, S Texas Saints pass up on Floyd and get the best safety in the draft. Vaccaro will be a very solid addition to a defense that needs help all over. ~ Scotty Payne
16 BUF E.J. Manuel, QB Florida State The Bills take a player who may not be the best QB but may fit into their offensive scheme the best with E.J. Manuel. ~ Topher Doll
17 PIT Jarvis Jones, OLB Georgia Steelers pick Jarvis Jones and snag the most dynamic pass rusher in the NFL Draft. ~ Mike Gomez
18 SF Eric Reid, S LSU Wow nice pick right here. A big hitting safety who fits what Harbaugh likes on defense. Reid replaces Goldson and Reid is a big hitter. I like it! ~ Scotty Payne
19 NYG Justin Pugh, OT Syracuse By nabbing Justin Pugh the Gaints shore up a line that's struggling and help Eli and their struggling run game. ~ Topher Doll
20 CHI Kyle Long, OG Oregon Bears pick son of Howie Long to help shore up Chicago's porous offensive line. ~ Mike Gomez
21 CIN Tyler Eifert, TE Notre Dame Bengals take the most versatile TE in the draft and now have a fantastic 1-2 punch for 12 personnel. ~ Mike Gomez

24 IND Bjoern Werner, DE Florida State Colts break Bronco Mike's heart and select Bjoern Werner, will most likely replace Freeney at OLB. ~ Mike Gomez
25 MIN Xavier Rhodes, CB Florida State Minnesota grabs another talented defensive player. Rhodes will give the Vikings an impact cornerback that their secondary has been missing. ~ Scotty Payne
26 GB Datone Jones, DE UCLA Packers grab an versatile D-Linemen who will add to their pass rush. Very solid pick by Ted Thompson. ~ Scotty Payne
27 HOU DeAndre Hopkins, WR Clemson Texans add a great weapon opposite Andre Johnson to help Matt Schaub, Arian Foster and that offense take off. ~ Topher Doll
28 DEN Sylvester Williams, DT North Carolina With pick, Broncos get a disruptive force on the inside. Broncos now have a very solid rotation along the defensive line. ~ Mike Gomez
29 MIN Cordarrelle Patterson, WR Tennessee Vikings get their replacement for Percy Harvin. Patterson gives the Vikings a receiving threat to go along with Jennings. Patterson is a bit rough on the edges and they did give up a ton to move up, but solid pick. ~ Scotty Payne
30 STL Alex Ogletree, ILB Georgia Rams get a talented player here, but also a character risk here in Ogletree. He has tons of talent, Jeff Fisher and company just have to keep him from getting in trouble off the field. ~ Scotty Payne
31 DAL Travis Frederick, C Wisconsin Jerry Jones takes a page from Al Davis and picks someone that won't be on the roster in 3 years. ~ Mike Gomez
32 BAL Matt Elam, S Florida Ravens get their replacement for Ed Reed in Matt Elam. Elam is a tough box safety who can hit. He does lack in coverage, but is a solid pickup for the Ravens. ~ Scotty Payne
