Report: Broncos have Joe Mays on trade block

Halfway through the fourth round rumors began to run that the Denver Broncos were making Joe Mays available for trade, as many fans have suspected for months.

Although there is nothing official (and when would there be in a situation in which a player is being placed on the trading block), it seems that the Denver Broncos have made veteran linebacker Joe Mays available for trade.

Mays is currently scheduled to make the seventh highest salary on the Broncos, with a base salary of $4 million and a cap figure of $4,166,667 (cutting him would cost $833,334 in dead money).

That four three million plus dollars that would be made available in trading or cutting Mays could likely sign a Dwight Freeney, John Abraham or anyone else that Denver feels would improve this post-draft team.

Other players that could be on the broncos trading block include: Knowshon Moreno, Chris Kuper and Willis McGahee.
