2013 NFL Power Rankings Countdown: #31 New York Jets

Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

For obvious reasons, my pick of the Jaguars for that worst team in football title was mocked and ridiculed for the very reason that it wasn't the Oakland Raiders. I take full responsibility for that mistake and plan to rectify it very soon, like maybe tomorrow or the next day.

There is at least one more team I consider to be worse than the Raiders and I was darn tempted to put them at the very bottom considering the laughingstock they have become in the after the 2013 NFL Draft.

31. New York Jets (2012 Record: 6-10)

Welcome to the most dysfunctional franchise in the National Football League. Yes, they have surpassed the Oakland Raiders for that unheralded title. Tim Tebow aside, this franchise is one dramatic freak show after another. It's almost must watch TV anymore. I'd feel bad for their fans, but they almost bring it on themselves at times.

So drafting Mark Sanchez 5th overall a few years ago didn't quite pan out, but now Geno Smith is suddenly a far superior prospect at 39th overall? Come on! At least be realistic. You traded your best player in Darrelle Revis and suddenly his rookie replacement is supposed to instantly make the team better? Again, Come on!

I actually think their draft was okay overall, but I doubt this team will begin seeing dividends from this class until 2015 or beyond. Which means the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS are going to be down right awful next year. I was tempted to put them at the bottom, but Rex Ryan is a superior coach to his Jaguar counterpart.
