Broncos sign sixth round pick Vinston Painter

The offensive lineman is the first of Denver's seven draft picks to sign.

The Denver Broncos have signed 2013 sixth round draft pick OT Vinston Painter, the club announced on Twitter. Painter, selected 173rd overall, is the first of the club's seven draft picks to sign.

Based on rules set out by the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, Painter will have signed a three four-year deal with the Broncos.

At 6-6 and 309 pounds, Painter played 31 games during his career as a Virginia Tech Hokie, starting all 13 contests at offensive tackle in 2012 and earning honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference. With some experience at defensive tackle in college, it is expected Painter will be able to move inside or outside along the Broncos' offensive line, adding versatile depth to the offense's trenches.

A graduate of Maury High School in Norfolk, Va., Painter was born on Oct. 11, 1989.

One down, six to go. Rookie minicamp starts tomorrow.
