Von Miller not at practice today. Attending to suspension appeal matter -- but not with NFL officials. No formal appeal hearing today.

This entire situation has taken a rather puzzling turn as all reports indicated last week that the NFL would be hearing an appeal today by Von Miller of his 4 game suspension for violating the substance abuse policy. It has already been established that Von was not suspended due to PED's or even a new instance of recreational drug use, but rather because of non-compliance with a condition set forth in the NFL's substance abuse program. Miller was placed into the program after testing positive for marijuana and an undisclosed amphetamine during his rookie year.
It was announced yesterday that the Broncos young pass-rushing phenom was arrested Sunday for failure to appear in court in regards to a minor traffic violation committed last October. Allegedly, he was cited for careless driving, driving without a license, and no proof of insurance.
There is no current timetable as to when the NFL will hold an official appeal hearing, but one has to wonder if this latest information has something to do with the delay. We'll keep you updated on the situation as things unfold.
