Report: Bradley to have wrist surgery, Woodyard your new MLB?

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Current starting Middle Linebacker Stewart Bradley is to undergo wrist surgery. He will miss "several weeks".  In his absence, current weakside linebacker Wesley Woodyard moves into the Middle linebacker spot. Second year guy Danny Trevathan moves to the weakside spot in Woodyards absence.

So your starting linebackers will be WLB: Trevathan, ILB: Woodyard, SLB: Von Miller/Nate Irving

I really like the idea of Woodyard in the Middle. Some might say that Woodyard may be too "small" to play inside, but John Fox had a similar sized guy in Jon Beason play inside for him for a few years. I love seeing Danny Trevathan in the starting lineup.

Irving who was supposed to be the starting inside guy this year, but the news of Von Miller suspension has changed the plans a bit. Irving who was Millers backup all of last year will shift over to the strong side. I think this puts the best linebackers the Broncos have on the field.

Now my next question would be, who are the backups? Shaun Phillips who is listed as a DE/OLB will probably see some time as a rush LB. Undrafted Rookie Lerentee McCray probably makes the roster now. Steven Johnson looks to be your backup at Inside Linebacker as well. With Bradley out for several weeks, and Miller potentially suspended, look for the Broncos to add another linebacker or two in the coming weeks.
