Ryan Clady injury rumored to be Lisfranc foot sprain, with no timetable on return

Peyton Manning's blind side protector could be out for several weeks.

Since he was drafted with the 12th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, Denver Broncos All Pro and Pro Bowl left tackle Ryan Clady has not missed a start.

That streak is certainly at risk this week, according to the latest reports.

Longtime Denver sports radio figure Brandon Krisztal, now working with the fantastic Denver Post Press Box show, tweeted the news earlier this morning that Clady has suffered a Lisfranc foot sprain, putting his status for the next several weeks in doubt.

Krisztal has been a regular in seemingly every Broncos training camp I have attended over the years; I trust he has sources within the organization. So while we'll wait for more "official" word from the likes of Mike Klis or Adam Schefter, Krisztal's report is certainly grim.

UPDATE 1:00 p.m. MT - Indeed, Adam Schefter tweets that Clady will miss "at least a few weeks with Lisfranc sprain.

Lisfranc sprains can take months to heal, which would put Denver's offense - particularly the protection of Peyton Manning - in the less capable hands of Chris Clark for a large chunk of the 2013 season.

Coincidentally, the Broncos announced they signed Clark to a two-year contract extension moments ago.

We'll give you more news as it comes.
