Two weeks ago, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was nominated for—and won—FedEx Air Player of the Week honors on NFL.com after passing for seven touchdowns against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1. After an "off week" in which he threw "only" 307 yards and two touchdowns last week, Manning was not nominated following his Week 2 performance.
In Week 3, Manning was back to his usual self, throwing for 374 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-21 win over the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football. His performance was good enough to again get him nominated for the Air Player of the Week award.
Manning has thrown 12 touchdowns and no interceptions through the first three games of the season, which has never been done before. Manning's 12 touchdowns are also more than every other offense in the NFL have scored this season.
Manning is up against New Orleans' Drew Brees (342 yards, 3 TDs) and Matthew Stafford (385 yards, 2 TDs) in the voting. Voting is open on NFL.com through Friday.
