Denver Broncos Power Rankings: Week 1

NFL Power Rankings: The Broncos are one of the top-ranked teams in the NFL heading into Week 1 of the 2013 season.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Our weekly look around the web for how the Broncos rank in NFL Power Rankings. Previous ranking in parenthesis.

SB Nation - 3 (N/A)

A reliance on 1980s communications technology and a six-game suspension for Von Miller help keep the Broncos out of the top spot. Peyton Manning and a trio of 1,000-yard receivers will have to overpower opponents through the first six games. Fortunately, the only 2012 playoff team on the schedule during that stretch will be their Week 1 opponent, Baltimore.

ESPN - 4 (3)

Missing Von Miller for six games will hurt, especially with Elvis Dumervil in Baltimore. At least the Broncos' offense looks more than capable of picking up the slack.

CBS Sports - Pete Prisco - 1 (1)

I know people think this team has lost some of its juice in the preseason, but I still think this is the top team going into the season. The schedule is favorable early to handle the problems and the Broncos do have Peyton Manning.

CBS Sports - Pat Kirwan - 2 (N/A)

Peyton Manning has enough weapons to outscore most teams until Miller gets back.

Associated Press - 2 (N/A)

The AP Pro32 is determined by a simple points system based on how each voter ranks the NFL's 32 teams. A team receives 32 points for each first place vote, 31 for second place and so on through to the 32nd team, which receives one point.

FOX Sports - Brian Billick - 2 (N/A)

The Broncos were my favorite to win the AFC even before adding Wes Welker. The loss of Dumervill and the suspension of Von Miller are painful, but Shaun Phillips can plug the leak and the Broncos shouldn't have any issues winning shootouts.

FOX Sports - WhatIfSports! - 1 (2)

WhatIfSports.com utilizes its football simulation to rank all 32 NFL teams. To come up with the rankings, each team plays every other team 10,000 times. Teams are then ordered by winning percentage. The predictions use the most up-to-date stats, rosters and depth charts.

Average Ranking: 2.1
