Ugh, I'm so sick of it all. What am I sick of, you may ask? Here, I'll tell you.
I'm sick and tired of the mainstream media giving every team but the Broncos a built-in excuse if they lose. I'm equally tired of them giving certain teams automatic guarantees for other-than-football reasons to win.
What about us?
"The Patriots have soooooo many injuries" ~ 100% of all media people in the known universe
"The Patriots have overcome so many injuries that it's the best coaching job we've ever seen to get them here" ~ again, 100% of all media people in the known universe
What about us?
What about our injuries? What about the drama surrounding the Broncos? What about the amazing coaching job that Fox, Del Rio, and Adam Gase have done in lieu of all these injuries and drama filled incidents?
What about us?
What about 2 of the top 3 players on our ENTIRE TEAM being lost for the season with injuries? How about talking about that? If any non-die-hard Broncos fan were asked "which of the two teams lost 2 of their top 3 players for the year with injuries?", which team do you think they'd instantly say? Yep, you guessed it, they'd say New England. Why? Because the media is so in love with the Patriots that they need to find a way to give them an excuse for when they lose. They couldn't stomach the fact that a team might actually beat them straight up, so they have to manufacture reasons why even in a loss, everyone should be happy.
What about us?
What about our own injuries? We lost Clady, Miller, Harris, Vickerson, Wolfe, Moore, and Walton for the year. We had Champ out for most of the year, and Koppen, who was suppose to be our starter after JD went down, also got lost for the year. So why is there zero talk about all of the Broncos injuries and how amazing it is that they are in the AFC Championship Game? Oh yeah, it's because we have Peyton Manning. I guess that the 600 pound elephant in the room is still not being talked about. Well, I'll talk about it right now.
The reason why nobody is giving Fox credit while they give Bilichick credit is because the Broncos are winning with Peyton Manning. Do you know what that should tell you? Yep, it's that Manning is so much better than Tom Brady that what is a surprising and shocking appearance in the championship game to one, is just "ho hum" to another. Yes, Manning is so much better that he is suppose to be in this game even though more than half of the starters entering the year aren't playing anymore. He is so much better than Brady that he routinely turned no-names into household names. And now that Brady is attempting to do the same thing, he's getting an extra helping of praise.
What about us?
"You can't go into Seattle and win!" ~ 100% of everyone but me on the planet
"Seattle is virtually unbeatable at home!" ~ 100% of all media people
What about us?
The Seahawks have lost exactly 1 home game this year.... THE SAME AS THE BRONCOS! So what makes them playing at home so automatic that they'll win even if they fall flat on their faces? What, their "12th Man?" Let me tell you something about the 12th Man. You saw the REAL 12th man on display Sunday at 2:30pm. The 12th Man (aka Broncos Fans) forced timeout after timeout after timeout because even with his big fat mouth, Rivers couldn't get his center to hear his voice. The REAL 12TH MAN is the reason why it wasn't until the Broncos lost yet another player for the season, that the Chargers couldn't get anything going.
So, what about us? What about us, mainstream media? Why are we being disrespected? Why are we being overlooked? Why are we the red headed step child? What about us?
