Manning completed 145-of-214 passes (67.8%) for 1,755 yards with 19 touchdowns and three interceptions (116.5 rtg.) in the month of December while leading Denver to a 4-1 record and the AFC’s No. 1 seed.
He led all AFC players in attempts, completions, completion percentage, passing yards, passing touchdowns, quarterback rating and first downs (94) during the month of December. During the course of the final month of the year, he also set NFL single-season records for passing yards 5,477 and passing touchdowns (55).
The honor represents the eighth of Manning’s career to increase his NFL record in that category. It’s also his fourth Player of the Month award since he joined the Broncos, tying running back Terrell Davis for the most in franchise history.
Peyton found the magic he had displayed during the 1st part of the season during December. He threw 14 touchdowns against just 1 interception.
